Spotlight Business Story: Cody Wells, Owner of C3Brix
A New Home for LEGO Dreams in Ossipee
In 2019, Cody Wells—known to many as the “Lego Man” of New York—brought his life and vibrant LEGO passion to New Hampshire. What began as a journey for more creative space, after building a museum exhibit in Cape Cod, led Cody to open C3Brix, a unique LEGO haven that quickly became a local treasure.
A week before Thanksgiving in 2023, Cody unveiled his small brick-and-mortar shop and playroom, nestled in the heart of town. C3Brix isn’t just a LEGO store—it’s an experience. Children enjoy a free playroom which can be rented out for parties, families relax in a cozy sitting area, and everyone is invited to get lost in a world of imagination.
From Childhood Fears to Building Dreams
Cody’s story with LEGO started at age six. Haunted by a fear of sleeping upstairs, his dad encouraged him to build a “ghost trap” from LEGO—sparking a creative fire. Every holiday, Cody asked for more bricks, breaking and rebuilding them endlessly, a ritual that shaped his inventive spirit.
Though he put LEGO aside at sixteen, life’s rough patches—especially a difficult twenties and a tough divorce—eventually led him back to his roots. At twenty-seven, after learning he was adopted, Cody returned to Missouri, rediscovered his childhood bricks, and remembered how much joy they brought. That spark became his calling: part entertainer, educator, historian, and small business owner—and always, a “legoist.”
A Store Like No Other
C3Brix stands apart from big-box retailers. While you’ll find familiar sets, the real magic is in the rare and custom LEGO creations—from Toy Story and Deadpool to Star Wars lightsaber hilts. With over 700 unique sets in stock, it feels more like browsing a personal collection than shopping at a store.
Whether you’re hunting for impossible-to-find pieces, need just a few parts to finish a set, or simply want to talk LEGO, C3Brix is a destination for collectors and casual fans alike. Community is at the heart of the shop—kids who come in without money are given simple jobs and “spot money” to play, ensuring everyone gets to share the joy.
Bringing Joy, One Brick at a Time
For Cody, C3Brix is a passion project—his main business is traveling and creating LEGO art for clients—but the store is about more than sales. He wants C3Brix to be a community hub, a place to celebrate birthdays, escape the cold, or just hang out with friends.
Having grown up in rural Missouri and found himself in bustling New York, Cody now appreciates Effingham’s warmth and friendliness. “Here, you can actually look at someone and say hi,” he says, contrasting it with the anonymity of big cities. He relishes being a big fish in a small pond, a destination that draws visitors from multiple states.
A Mission of Prosperity and Positivity
Above all, Cody Wells’ mission is simple: bring joy and prosperity to the area. Through affordable events, a welcoming atmosphere, and a love for LEGO that runs deep, C3Brix is building more than just sets—it’s building community, one brick at a time.
Whether you’re a lifelong LEGO lover or just looking for a place to unwind, C3Brix offers something special: a place where imagination, nostalgia, and community meet.
